    • Military: Michael reported for active duty in Samar, September 21, 1944. In a record of 'World War II and Korean Conflict Veterans Interred Overseas,' Michael was listed at the rank of Chief Motor Machinist's Mate, United States Navy. Michael most likely died upon the destruction of the USS Seawolf on October 3, 1944 during WWII. He was instead listed as missing and not declared officially dead until a year later. Michael was officially declared dead at the monument at Fort McKinley, Manila, the Philippines on October 7, 1945. One website listed the destruction of the Seawolf as follows: "Sunk in error by destroyer escort USS Richard M. Rowell (DE 403) off Morotai, 3 October 1944."
